School Uniform and Dress Code
Students are required to wear the Blessed Sacrament School Uniform. Our supplier is: American School Uniform, Holly Norm Plaza, 5065 Hollywood Blvd. (upstairs), Los Angeles, CA. Telephone: (323) 666-9337.
If parents are conscientious about observing their children in the morning, then we can expect that students will consider uniforms a matter of importance. Parents need to assume responsibility for good hygiene, deodorants and clean uniforms.
Boy's Uniform K-8:
Navy blue pants, white polo shirts with logo, navy blue cardigan sweater; royal blue jacket; walking shorts (for warm weather only). Shirts MUST be tucked in at all times.
Girl's Uniform K-8
Plaid skirt/jumper and white overblouse or white polo shirt with logo; Mayfair blue cardigan sweater; royal blue jacket; walking shorts (for warm weather only). Hemlines SHOULD be at knee level.
School logo:
Mandatory on polo shirts. The school logo has been the lion since school year 1997-1998.
Shoes:
Girls - black oxford tie rubber-soled shoes or blue and white or black and white tennis shoes. Boys - all black saddle oxfords or black and white tennis shoes.
P.E. Shoes:
Students may also wear all black or all white or black and white low cut tennis shoes with a tie, buckle or strap. NO markings or visible insignias are permitted. NO mid or high-top shoes. NO lights in the heels, etc. NO combat style shoes or boots are allowed.
P.E. Clothes:
P.E. clothes are to be work only on P.E. days or on hot days by permission of the school administration.
Dress should be based on modesty, cleanliness, neatness and good taste. Sweaters, shoes, jackets and other articles of clothing that are not part of the Uniform Guidelines SHOULD NOT be worn to school. Sweaters and jackets must be marked with the name of the student. Parents of students who do not observe the Dress Code will be asked to address the matter. Students who continue to not observe the dress code will be sent home for the day. School logo sweat suit may be worn in cold/winter time only.
Make-Up:
May NOT be worn. This includes eye make-up, colored lip gloss, lipstick, fake nails and colored nail polish. Only clear nail polish, chapstick or clear lip gloss may be worn.
Jewelry:
The school is not responsible for the loss of expensive items. Boys may not wear earrings. Girls may wear stud or small button earrings but no more than two small studs in one ear. Hoop or dangling earrings may NOT be worn. One ring, one necklace, one bracelet and/or watch may be worn.
Hairstyles:
Styles should be moderate, neat and reflect good grooming. Girls and boys should have hair off the face for good vision. Boys should have a short, moderate cut with hair in the back not touching the collar of the shirt. Extreme hair styles and hair colorings are not permitted for boys or girls. Hair should cover the crown of the head and blend evenly with the rest of the hair.
Cell Phone/Pagers:
Students are not allowed to use cell phones/pagers at school during school hours. If a child needs to have one, the phone/pager must be checked into the office in the morning and picked up at the conclusion of the school day. The school is not responsible for lost damaged phones/pagers.
